Emerald Snow Loropetalum from the Southern Living Plant Collection is the perfect choice for any size of yard or garden. This loropetalum, also known as a fringe flower, has a mature height of 4-6 feet high and a mature height of 3-4 feet wide. Emerald Snow is a dense growing shrub that produces layered growth and requires little to no pruning to maintain its shape. When this plant blooms in the spring, it combines lustrous green foliage with multitudes of delicate white ribbon flowers that create a floral display that is reminiscent of a vibrant green bush coated with a light blanket of snow. After an initial bloom in Spring, occasional blooms will occur throughout summer and fall. When not blooming, Emerald Snow makes a dense evergreen hedge of bright, lime green new growth that eventually turns darker emerald green as it ages. This hardy dwarf semi-evergreen is particularly impressive as a mass planting and will be sure to draw attention as an elegant accent plant, hedge or foundation planting. Plant Emerald Snow in full sun to maximize its growth and bloom potential. Emerald Snow is hardy in USDA Zones 7-11.

  • Popular Choice: Emerald Snow Loropetalum features bright, emerald green foliage and clusters of white, fringy flowers that bloom in spring. This evergreen shrub reaches a mature size of about 3-4 feet in height and 4-5 feet in width, making it a compact yet lush addition to any garden.
  • Attracts Pollinators: Ideal for hedges, foundation plantings, and mass landscaping, Emerald Snow Loropetalum can also serve as an attractive border or accent plant. Its vibrant foliage and flowers can attract pollinators like bees and butterflies.
  • Sunlight: This plant thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is relatively low-maintenance in terms of pruning, requiring only occasional trimming to shape or remove any dead or overgrown branches, typically after the flowering season.
  • USDA Zones: Emerald Snow Loropetalum is hardy in USDA zones 7-10. It prefers well-drained soil and requires moderate watering, with more frequent watering needed during extreme heat or drought conditions, and less watering in cooler, wetter periods.
